Jiyuan East Station to Be Newly Established! Construction of the Jiaozuo–Pingdingshan High-Speed Railway to Begin Soon
Recently, reporters learned from Henan Provincial Railway Construction Investment Group Co., Ltd. that the preliminary design for the new Jiaozuo–Yuanqu and Luoyang–Pingdingshan railways on the Hohhot–Nanning Corridor—collectively known as the “Jiaoping High-Speed Railway”—has officially received joint approval from China State Railway Group and the People’s Government of Henan Province. This milestone marks significant progress on the project and lays a solid foundation for its full-scale commencement of construction.
The Jiaoping High-Speed Railway is designed for a speed of 350 km/h. The line originates at the Jueshan Signal Box on the Zhengzhou–Taiyuan Passenger Dedicated Line, heads south through Qinyang City and Jiyuan Demonstration Zone in Jiaozuo Municipality, crosses the Yellow River, and then connects to Luoyang Longmen Station on the Zhengzhou–Xuzhou High-Speed Railway. After departing Luoyang Longmen, the line continues through Yichuan County and Ruyang County in Luoyang Municipality and Ruzhou City in Pingdingshan Municipality, before linking up with Pingdingshan West Station on the Zhengzhou–Chongqing High-Speed Railway. The total investment for the project exceeds RMB 40 billion, with 230.488 kilometers of new track constructed over a four-year construction period. Along the entire line, five new stations will be built—Qinyang West, Jiyuan East, Mengjin North, Ruyang East, and Ruzhou South—while Luoyang Longmen and Jiaozuo West stations will be renovated, and Yichuan West station will be reserved for future development.
The Jiaoping–High-Speed Railway project is part of the Huhang Corridor, one of the “Eight Vertical” lines in the National Medium- and Long-Term Railway Network Plan. It plays a vital role in accelerating the rise of the central region, improving transportation infrastructure in western Henan Province, and speeding up the development of a modern railway infrastructure system. Upon completion, the project will form a cross-shaped network with the Zhengzhou–Xi’an High-Speed Railway, integrating into Henan’s “rice”-shaped high-speed rail network and thereby promoting high-quality economic and social development in western Henan and supporting rural revitalization.
