Pearl River Delta Water Resources Allocation Project Operation and Management Trolley Project

The Pearl River Delta Water Resources Allocation Project is one of the 172 major water-saving and water-supply projects designated by the State Council. With a total pipeline length of 113.1 kilometers, it is, to date, the largest water-resources allocation project in Guangdong Province in terms of investment, longest in pipeline length, and widest in scope of water-receiving areas. The project employs deep-buried shield tunneling to construct its underground infrastructure at an average depth of 40 to 60 meters, a feat that is rare both in China’s water-conservation history and on the global stage.

The operation and management trolley is a pioneering, domestically developed and manufactured solution specifically designed for the Pearl River Delta Water Diversion Project. It features motor-driven hydraulic pumps and a microelectronic control system that enable hydrostatic transmission, electrohydraulic proportional steering, and hydraulic lifting. The entire unit is powered by lithium iron phosphate batteries, delivering strong transport capacity, long cruising range, zero emissions, and quiet operation.

The transport vehicle is primarily used for the in-tunnel transportation of water transmission pipelines and also serves to assist with pipeline installation. The vehicle can enter and traverse the interior of the pipeline, use its jacking system to lift the pipeline, autonomously drive to the designated location, and facilitate the splicing of the water transmission pipeline. This entire process can be completed independently, without the need for cranes or other auxiliary equipment.
