Guangzhou Metro Line 6 Project


The construction of segmental bridges on Guangzhou Metro Line 6 employed the Xinfangda DP700 segmental girder-launching machine, a pioneering application in China at the time. This segmental assembly and launching machine offers the following advantages:

(1) The DP700 bridge-launching machine has, for the first time, successfully implemented a new technology featuring high-altitude suspended incremental launching of girder segments followed by overall girder placement, thereby ensuring uninterrupted normal traffic beneath the bridge and demonstrating broad applicability.

(2) The overall construction plan for girder erection and longitudinal transposition of the bridge-launching gantry adopts a step-by-step hydraulic propulsion system, eliminating the need for track laying and ensuring smooth, safe, simple, and convenient operation.

(3) A specialized hydraulic beam-lowering support system for banana-shaped girders (i.e., full-span curved girders) was adopted, thereby eliminating the construction hazards caused by severe non-uniform stress distribution in the end suspenders resulting from the eccentricity of the banana girder.

(4) When positioning the bridge-launching girder erector on a bridge with small curve radii, the secant-line arrangement method is employed to reduce by half the transverse offset of each girder segment suspended in mid-air from the centerline of the launching girder.

(5) The bridge-launching machine is equipped with a reliable and advanced device for accommodating significant transverse slopes of the bridge deck—the hydraulic compensator—which ensures that the entire machine remains laterally level throughout the longitudinal traveling process, making operation simple and safe.
