Ma Yi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, Inspects the Construction of the Xindafang Beam Yard

Xin Dafang News: On January 9, at the start of the new year, Ma Yi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, led heads of relevant municipal departments to the Xin Dafang Beam Yard to conduct an inspection of key project construction. Chairman Zhang Zhihua accompanied the delegation and presented a work report.

The Fourth Ring Road and the Dahé Road Expressway Upgrade Project is a major initiative to improve people’s livelihoods, with a total length of 93.3 kilometers and 13 railway-crossing nodes. To date, with the exception of the underpass beneath the Zhengzhou–Kaifeng Intercity Railway at the East Fourth Ring node, all other sections have commenced construction. As one of the precast girder yards for the Fourth Ring project, Xindafang has undertaken the erection of more than 15,000 box girders.

At the construction site, Ma Yi carefully reviewed the progress of the project and inspected the production of precast girders as well as environmental protection measures. He emphasized that the Fourth Ring Road and Dahé Road Expressway Upgrade Project is a crucial component of the “Two Verticals, Two Horizontals, Two Rings” expressway network, and currently represents the largest road project in terms of investment. Given its significant role and substantial responsibilities, all relevant parties must organize construction in a scientific and coordinated manner, effectively addressing issues such as material supply, financial assurance, and utility relocation. Special attention should be paid to seamless communication and coordination on matters involving railways and power lines, with dedicated work plans developed to ensure unified action across all stakeholders. At the same time, it is essential to pursue integrated planning and mutual reinforcement of development and environmental protection, so as to ensure that environmental protection efforts and construction activities proceed in parallel without compromising either.

Ma Yi emphasized the need to carry out construction in strict accordance with design specifications and technical requirements, ensuring both construction safety and engineering quality. Under favorable weather conditions, while maintaining high standards of quality and safety, efforts should be accelerated to expedite the project schedule, so that the construction can be completed as soon as possible, thereby establishing a vital east–west transportation artery that connects the eastern and western parts of the city. This will make a positive contribution to alleviating urban traffic congestion, speeding up the realization of the “Smooth Zhengzhou” goal, and enhancing the image of the provincial capital as a central city.

In response to Ma Yi’s concerns, Zhang Zhihua provided a detailed briefing. He stated that the Zhengzhou Fourth Ring Road project is currently the largest single municipal bridge project in the world in terms of total investment. Given the stringent requirement to minimize traffic disruption and environmental impact during construction, it is imperative to conduct focused research and technological breakthroughs on numerous new technologies, materials, processes, and equipment. Xindafang will undoubtedly live up to expectations by highlighting the hallmarks of “technological innovation” and “green construction,” employing scientific planning and meticulous organization to ensure adherence to the project schedule, safety, quality, and efficiency, thereby successfully completing the prefabrication tasks for the Fourth Ring Road project and delivering to the people of Zhengzhou a highly satisfactory outcome: a model of urban bridge construction characterized by green technology and intelligent solutions!
