Xindafang Conducts 2017 Fire Drill

To implement fire safety responsibilities, enhance employees’ knowledge of fire safety, improve their ability to respond to and manage emergency fire situations, and ensure they learn the proper use of fire extinguishers and escape procedures, Xindafang conducts an annual fire drill. This year’s drill was held on the morning of November 4 at the Xindafang Industrial Park, with full participation from all staff.

For this fire drill, Captain Wang from the Mazhai Fire Station was invited to attend. The exercise focused on safe evacuation in the event of a sudden fire (including an evacuation drill), instruction on fire safety knowledge, and the proper use of firefighting equipment. Captain Wang addressed three main areas: basic fire knowledge—including fire characteristics and fire classification—types and operating procedures for firefighting equipment, and emergency response measures following a fire. Drawing on recent fire incidents in Zhengzhou and the company’s current fire safety situation, he provided a detailed explanation of common fire safety practices, such as analyzing the causes of fires, initiating early suppression and extinguishing efforts, and implementing effective evacuation and escape strategies at the scene. He emphasized key points like, “When a fire breaks out, aim the extinguisher at the base of the flames,” and “During firefighting, prioritize personal protective measures: never stand upwind, remain calm, and avoid panic.” His explanations were both thorough and easy to understand, enabling employees to quickly grasp the fundamental principles and skills of fire safety within a relatively short training session.
At the drill site, Captain Wang also demonstrated the proper use of fire extinguishers, and through his hands-on demonstration, participants quickly mastered the basic techniques for using fire extinguishers to put out fires. Employees were all highly enthusiastic and eager to try, and by taking part themselves, they even got to play the role of “firefighters” and experience what it’s like to be one.
Through this drill, employees not only enhanced their fire safety awareness and expanded their knowledge of fire prevention, but also laid a solid foundation for further improving fire safety efforts in social organizations.
