Craftsmanship Empowers Enterprises, Witnessing the Future in Henan | The Launch Ceremony of Henan Province’s Special Initiative “Model Workers and Craftsmen Assist Enterprises” Held with Great Fanfare at Xindafang
On April 23, the launch ceremony for the Henan Province “Model Workers and Craftsmen Assist Enterprises” special initiative—themed “Craftsmanship Empowers Enterprises, Witnessing the Future in Henan”—and its Zhengzhou station event was solemnly held at Xindafang. The event was jointly hosted by the Henan Provincial Federation of Trade Unions and the Henan Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, co-organized by the Zhengzhou Municipal Federation of Trade Unions and the Zhengzhou Municipal Department of Industry and Information Technology, and supported by the Erqi District Federation of Trade Unions and the Erqi District Department of Industry and Information Technology.
Meng Xiangzhong, Vice Chairman of the Henan Provincial Federation of Trade Unions (holding a concurrent post), Guo Junfeng, Deputy Director of the Enterprise Services Office of the Henan Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, Du Jianxin, Vice Chairman of the Zhengzhou Municipal Federation of Trade Unions, Qi Fei, Third-Level Researcher at the Zhengzhou Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, Zhang Chenxia, Deputy Director of the Erqi District Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, and other relevant leaders of the Erqi District Federation of Trade Unions, together with more than thirty model workers and artisan representatives from various industries, attended the launch ceremony.

At the event, Meng Xiangzhong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Trade Unions, delivered an enthusiastic address. He emphasized that this special campaign is a crucial initiative for thoroughly implementing the “Opinions of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on Deepening the Reform of the Industrial Workforce,” with a focus on the “Four Highs and Four Pioneering Efforts.” It aims to leverage the professional strengths of model workers and skilled artisans to boost high-quality enterprise development. According to the “Implementation Plan for the ‘Model Workers and Skilled Artisans Assist Enterprises’ Special Campaign in Henan Province,” trade unions at all levels across the province are required to collaborate with the departments of industry and information technology to establish service teams composed of model workers and skilled artisans. These teams will go directly into enterprises to deliver policies, technologies, and services, help resolve technical challenges, transform the “unique skills” of model workers and skilled artisans into a vital source of momentum for enterprise development, and convert “artisan wisdom” into “enterprise-driven growth.”

Chairman Zhang Zhihua attended the launch ceremony and delivered a speech. He stated that today’s grand event held in Xindafang is a testament to the trust and encouragement extended by the leaders of the Provincial Federation of Trade Unions and the Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, an honor that fills us with profound pride. This event not only brings the skills of model workers and master craftsmen from across the province to Xindafang, but also infuses the spirit of these exemplary figures into our community, while providing us with a rare opportunity for learning and growth. He emphasized that Xindafang will take this occasion as a catalyst to vigorously promote the spirit of model workers and master craftsmen, ensuring that this inspiring ethos is passed down through generations across the Central Plains and resonates as the most powerful voice of the new era.

At the launch ceremony, the provincial federation and the municipal federation respectively presented flags to the “Henan Provincial Model Workers and Skilled Craftsmen Enterprise Support Service Team” and the “Zhengzhou City Model Workers and Skilled Craftsmen Enterprise Support Service Team.”
The initiative clearly states that trade unions must demonstrate their commitment by serving the overall national and provincial priorities: focusing on key industries and major projects across the province, organizing model workers and skilled artisans to tackle critical technological challenges and help resolve “bottleneck” problems; showcasing the contributions of skilled professionals through targeted services by adopting a problem-oriented approach, establishing a mechanism for matching talent resources with enterprise needs, and implementing a service model in which “enterprises place orders, trade unions assign tasks, and skilled artisans take them on”; and promoting the spirit of model workers through demonstration and leadership by telling compelling stories of model workers and skilled artisans, using the “Model Workers and Skilled Artisans Assist Enterprises” campaign as a platform to help businesses overcome technical hurdles, cultivate skilled personnel, and make new and greater contributions to writing a new chapter of Chinese-style modernization in Henan.
Following the launch ceremony, the “Guo Chao Innovation Team” of Zhengzhou Textile Machinery Co., Ltd. visited Xindafang’s welding workshop to demonstrate best practices and provide technical guidance on challenging welding processes across various industries, while also answering technical questions. Representatives of model workers and skilled artisans, along with corporate representatives, observed the demonstrations on site.
