The DCD40 All-Electric Multi-Functional Tunnel Transport Vehicle Makes a Stunning Debut on the Xi’an–Xiangyang Expressway
The DCD40 all-electric multi-functional transport vehicle, independently developed by Xindafang, is powered by lithium iron phosphate batteries. It is a self-propelled, tire-mounted heavy-duty specialized vehicle for handling and transporting structural components, characterized by high transmission efficiency, fast operating speed, and versatile functionality.
The transport vehicle features bi-directional driving, making it ideally suited for hauling heavy loads through narrow, elongated tunnels and for operating under heavy-load conditions on a variety of road surfaces. It is equipped with a collision-avoidance system that enables smooth entry into the tunnel boring machine (TBM) to assist in lifting and installing invert arch segments, while also meeting the requirements for transporting materials such as mortar tanks. In addition, its advanced braking system ensures reliable start-up, travel, and stopping on steep gradients of up to 5%.
Currently, the vehicle has been deployed to the southwest, where it is providing critical support for the construction of tunnels on the Xichang–Shangri-La Expressway, delivering outstanding performance.
