Xindafang Supports the Successful Launch of “Zhuque-2,” the World’s First Liquid-Oxygen/Methane Launch Vehicle
At 9:00 a.m. Beijing Time on July 12, 2023, the Zhuque-2 Y2 launch vehicle, independently developed by Landspace, was launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in China. The mission was carried out in accordance with the planned procedures, and the launch was a complete success.
The overall transportation for this rocket launch is being handled by the DCY120 rocket-specific transport vehicle, independently developed by Xindafang.
Xin Dafang is a leading domestic integrated service provider that specializes in the R&D, design, manufacturing, sales, installation services, equipment leasing, and construction contracting of specialized large-scale lifting and transportation equipment. It is recognized as a National High-Tech Enterprise, a National Specialized, Sophisticated, and Novel “Little Giant” Enterprise, a National Intellectual Property Advantage Enterprise, and a National Innovative Pilot Enterprise. The company also houses a National Enterprise Technology Center, an Academician Workstation, and a Postdoctoral Research Station.
Relying on independent innovation, Xindafang has successively completed the R&D of specialized equipment spanning more than ten fields, including bridges, tunnels, water conservancy, shipbuilding, civil aviation, aerospace, offshore engineering, wind-power installation, and information technology. This has fundamentally rewritten China’s long-standing reliance on imports for critical equipment, establishing Xindafang as a cornerstone of the nation’s specialized equipment sector. In recent years, driven by ongoing social development and evolving market demands, Xindafang’s independently developed specialized transport vehicles have come to dominate the market, serving as the preferred solution for the safe and efficient transportation of oversized, heavy, and irregularly shaped cargoes. These vehicles are widely used in shipyards, steel mills, and the aerospace industry, among other sectors.
The DCY120 rocket-specific transport vehicle was specially developed for the Zhuque rocket launch operations of Landspace, and its successful development has filled a critical gap in China’s capability for horizontal transportation of rockets. With superior overall performance, it features all-hydraulic drive, multi-mode steering, and bidirectional assembly in both forward and reverse directions. When integrated with the service arm and the rocket to form a complete system, it enables horizontal transportation of the rocket from the technical building to the launch pad. Moreover, this mission has realized a new “three-horizontal-one-vertical” measurement-and-launch mode: horizontal integrated testing, horizontal integrated spacecraft–rocket docking, horizontal integrated transportation, and vertical launch.
At the launch pad, the autonomous driving system enables the transport vehicle to precisely align and orient the service arm with the launch pad, achieve precise attitude control, and execute accurate parking, ultimately realizing exact docking between the service arm and the launch pad. Following the erection of the launch vehicle by the service arm, the transport vehicle then autonomously departs the launch site. The entire process is efficient, smooth, safe, and reliable, significantly reducing rocket launch preparation time.
The Zhuque-2 Y2 rocket is the world’s first liquid-oxygen/methane launch vehicle to successfully achieve orbital insertion, and also China’s first commercial space launch vehicle to accomplish orbital flight using a domestically developed liquid-propellant engine, thereby filling a critical technological gap in the country’s liquid-oxygen/methane propulsion system. New Dafang feels deeply proud and honored to have been part of this launch.
According to reports, this is not Xindafang’s first participation in a rocket launch. In November 2022, Xindafang’s DCY80 rocket transporter played a key role in the successful “Ceres-1” mission that placed five satellites into orbit in a single launch, once again setting a new record for delivery of private commercial rocket launches in China.
Looking ahead, Xindafang will continue to leverage its technological strengths in mechanical engineering, hydraulics, electrical systems, structural design, and intelligent technologies, stay abreast of industry trends, and pursue continuous innovation, thereby providing more cutting-edge, high-quality specialized transport vehicles for China’s aerospace, port and terminal operations, shipbuilding, mining, tunneling, and other key sectors.
