The 20th CPC National Congress: Voices from the Heart | Zhang Zhihua, a Provincial People’s Congress Representative: Strive to Keep Core Technologies Firmly in Our Own Hands

The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China opened in Beijing on the morning of October 16, with General Secretary Xi Jinping delivering a report on behalf of the 19th Central Committee. At the same time, cadres and staff of the provincial people’s congress system, together with deputies to people’s congresses at all levels, tuned in to watch the opening session of the 20th National Congress and listened attentively to the report.
The Party’s heart is closely connected with the people’s heart; applause and cheers mingled and echoed throughout the Great Hall of the People, reverberating long after across the Central Plains. The Henan Provincial People’s Congress Integrated Media Center has launched a special feature titled “Moments of the 20th National Congress: Voices from the Heart,” which captures the enthusiastic response across the province’s people’s congress system to the successful convening of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and showcases the determination and sense of responsibility of Party members, cadres, employees, and deputies at all levels to embark on a new journey and make contributions in the new era.

Zhang Zhihua Delivers a Lecture to Cadres and Staff of the Zhengzhou Municipal People’s Congress
Zhang Zhihua, a deputy to the Henan Provincial People’s Congress and chairman of Zhengzhou New Dafang Heavy Industry Science And Technology Co., Ltd., said that over the past decade of the new era, in the face of a complex and ever-changing international situation and the test of the global pandemic, China’s equipment manufacturing industry has seized opportunities amid challenges, made leaps and bounds, and unleashed tremendous momentum for high-quality development. As a member of this industry, the driving force behind New Dafang’s development is “technology, talent, and innovation.”
Zhang Zhihua stated that the report to the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China has charted the course for the future innovation and high-quality development of private enterprises. Moving forward, we will thoroughly implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress, regard the development of “major national strategic equipment” as our solemn responsibility, pursue concrete results through diligent and pragmatic work, forge ahead with unwavering resolve, and make active contributions to ensuring that “Made in China” shines on the international market.
“We must remain steadfast in our confidence, persist in technological innovation and increase investment in scientific research, focus intently on addressing the bottlenecks and pain points—those ‘chokehold’ challenges—in the demand for major engineering and technical equipment, achieve new breakthroughs, and resolutely wage and win the tough battle to master critical core technologies, ensuring that we firmly hold these core technologies in our own hands through self-reliance and self-strengthening in science and technology,” said Zhang Zhihua.
He also stated that the company will continue to pursue a dual-pronged approach of cultivating and attracting talent, build better platforms and foster a more conducive environment for researchers to innovate and create, and strive to make the enterprise an innovation-driven entity brimming with research vitality. The goal is to generate more research outcomes with independent intellectual property rights and maintain the company’s leading role in industry development. Guided by the demands of both domestic and international markets, the company will actively integrate into the Belt and Road Initiative and the dual-circulation strategy—domestic and international—and, by overcoming technical challenges in areas such as high-speed rail, water diversion, and airport rescue, provide advanced technological equipment and comprehensive service support for major and key projects at home and abroad. In doing so, the company aims to further enhance its core competitiveness and brand influence.
In addition, we must proactively implement the national “dual carbon” strategy, leverage the unique R&D strengths of our enterprise as a “specialized, refined, distinctive, and innovative” company, strive to upgrade our products and transform our business, and vigorously advance China’s technological progress in specialized heavy-load lifting and transport technologies and equipment through green development, industrialization, informatization, intelligentization, and digitalization, thereby maintaining our industry-leading position.
