Shuangji River Aqueduct Project of the Middle Route of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project

The Shuangji River Aqueduct in the Zhengzhou–Jiaozuo section of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project has a total length of 1,849.4 meters and comprises one river-channel crossing, one left-bank drainage structure, one highway bridge, one regulating sluice, one return-water sluice, one railway crossing, as well as several open-channel sections. It encompasses the vast majority of the engineering structures and foundation treatment types used in the Central Route project, and its construction difficulty and structural complexity are the highest along the entire line, earning it the apt nickname of “the museum of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project.”

Project features: The Shuangji River aqueduct has a maximum cross-sectional height of 8.9 meters, a length of 30 meters, and a single-span weight of 2,500 tons, making it the largest of its kind in the world. The construction employs an in-situ concrete placement method using a trough-forming machine, with total equipment weight of 1,600 tons, installation height of 27 meters, and internal formwork weighing 528 tons. The equipment is state-of-the-art, and the construction process is highly advanced.
