Wuhu Yangtze River Second Bridge Project
The Wuhu Yangtze River Second Highway Bridge stretches approximately 13 kilometers, connecting Baiqia Town in Wujiang District, Wuhu City, to Eshan Town in Fanchang County, Wuhu City.
Project characteristics: A pair of parallel, pre-stressed concrete segmental box girders constructed by prefabrication and incremental launching; standard spans consist of either five or six continuous spans, with a standard span of 30 meters and a maximum span of 35 meters; the heaviest individual segment weighs up to 50 tons. The construction employs a DP50/35 segmental launching gantry for sequential, span-by-span assembly, combined with high-level prestressing and low-level girder placement, resulting in significant construction challenges and a complex construction process.
