Tuas West Extension Project in Singapore

The Tuas West Extension of the Singapore MRT (from Yuhua Station to Tuas West) connects the city center with the Tuas Industrial Estate, spanning a total length of 7.5 kilometers and featuring an entirely elevated rail alignment.

Project characteristics: The construction site is located in the urban area; the bridge structure is a twin-box, continuous rigid-frame system with a span arrangement of two or three spans per continuous segment; the maximum longitudinal grade is 3%, the maximum transverse grade is 5%, and the minimum curve radius is 350 meters. Two construction methods are employed: cantilever erection of T-shaped segments and incremental launching with suspended assembly for each span, with transverse shifting operations carried out during the construction process.
