The Final Evaluation and Acceptance Meeting for the “Henan Provincial Innovation Base for Graduate Education in Mechanical Engineering” Was Successfully Held at Xindafang

He expressed the hope that the experts, while inspecting and accepting the construction outcomes of the base, would also provide guidance on its next steps, jointly explore how to build a high-quality joint postgraduate training base by leveraging industry–education integration enterprises, and summarize experiences for the construction of postgraduate innovation training bases.

In her address, Deputy Director Zhou Chaoxia pointed out that strengthening the development of innovation-driven training bases for graduate education is a crucial step in deepening the reform of professional-degree graduate education and in reinforcing university–enterprise cooperation and the integration of industry and education. The evaluation and acceptance process for these innovation-driven training bases serves three main purposes: first, to conduct a comprehensive review of the bases’ development status in preparation for recommending them as national industry–education integration bases; second, to identify the challenges and bottlenecks in university–enterprise collaboration throughout the professional-degree graduate training process, to highlight the distinctive features and strengths of each base, and to guide universities and enterprises in placing greater emphasis on substantive, distinctive, and high-quality base development; and third, to summarize and disseminate best practices and models for base development, to formulate a well-informed plan for the next phase of work, and to fully leverage the role of these bases in the cultivation of professional-degree graduate students.
Professor Han Lingshan, head of the Innovation Base, delivered a report covering seven key areas: an overview of the base’s project approval, its construction objectives and progress, the integration of industry and education, the outcomes of graduate student training, the selection, management, and support services for industry mentors, as well as the management of the base and the utilization of its construction funds. The expert panel then conducted detailed inquiries on issues related to base management, base development, successful practices, and existing challenges, and, in light of these questions, put forward scientifically sound and practical recommendations.
Finally, Liu Yufang, Vice President of Henan Normal University, delivered a concluding address on behalf of the expert panel. He expressed the hope that the innovation base would further leverage its disciplinary strengths and align them with the unique characteristics of enterprises, thereby promoting the distinctive and high-quality development of professional-degree graduate education; continuously deepen the reform of the professional-degree graduate training model; strengthen the integration of industry and education; actively advance the building of mentor teams; further refine the talent-development system; and build a robust talent pool to support scientific and technological innovation in our province.
