The Final Set of Equipment for the New Dafang India High-Speed Rail Project Has Been Successfully Shipped
Xindafang News: As the Spring Festival draws near, heavy snowflakes are swirling and falling across the “Green City,” further enhancing the festive atmosphere. Amidst the blanket of snow, the final set of equipment for the India project has been successfully shipped out and is soon to make its debut at the construction site of India’s first high-speed railway. Excited Xindafang employees wave national flags in their hands, expressing their elation.
In January 2021, Xindafang stood out thanks to its comprehensive strengths and successfully won the bid for India’s first high-speed railway project—the Mumbai–Ahmedabad line—under which it will supply four sets of world-leading, 1,100-ton capacity complete construction equipment for the moving, lifting, transporting, and erecting of high-speed railway bridges, as well as other urban elevated bridge equipment. This collaboration with India marked the first major equipment export deal for Zhengzhou City in 2021.
Each overseas project is a comprehensive review, a rigorous training exercise, and a holistic enhancement process. Winning the bid is merely the starting point; from procurement and process engineering to production, assembly, quality inspection, painting, and shipment, every stage is tightly integrated and interdependent. To establish a strong international reputation for Xindafang, the company promptly established the “India Project Task Force,” with unwavering commitment and close collaboration across all levels—from management to frontline staff—ensuring meticulous planning, scientific execution, attention to detail, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. All efforts are fully mobilized to proactively carry out every task in accordance with project requirements.
Currently, the standard girder transporters on both international and domestic markets are 900-ton and 1,000-ton models. In light of the specific requirements of the Indian project, Xindafang has independently developed a new ultra-large-capacity girder transporter with a lifting capacity of 1,100 tons, making it the world’s largest single-unit girder transporter in terms of load-carrying capacity. This vehicle features a 27-axle configuration, 216 heavy-duty engineering tires, and an overall length of 46.8 meters—representing a global first. Moreover, by leveraging load-sensing, pressure-compensation, and electro-hydraulic proportional closed-loop control technologies, coupled with dual-engine and multi-hydraulic-pump cluster control, the system achieves optimal power matching among the engine, hydraulic pumps, and the entire machine, thereby overcoming the global technical challenge of high-precision synchronous steering under varying loads and complex ground conditions.
In late July, just as the first set of equipment was scheduled for shipment, Zhengzhou was hit by a once-in-a-millennium torrential rainstorm, disrupting transportation and severely hampering logistics. To ensure that the Indian contractor’s project timeline would not be affected, Xindafang rose to the challenge, overcoming unimaginable difficulties to complete and dispatch the equipment on schedule in accordance with the contract. This timely delivery safeguarded the smooth progress of India’s inaugural high-speed rail project and earned high praise from the Indian side.
During the production of the second, third, and fourth sets of equipment, Zhengzhou was hit by two consecutive rounds of pandemic-related lockdowns, presenting numerous challenges. Adhering to the goal of “no delays in the project schedule and on-time delivery,” Xindafang rose to the occasion, meticulously planned every step, overcame the many obstacles posed by the lockdowns, and maintained normal production operations throughout. To date, the second and third sets of equipment have arrived in India as scheduled and are currently undergoing intensive assembly, while the fourth set has already been officially shipped. Moving forward, the Indian project will enter an even more demanding phase of construction.
“A timely snowfall heralds a bountiful harvest.” As the Belt and Road Initiative continues to gain momentum and Xindafang’s overseas brand presence strengthens, an increasing number of products “Made in Xindafang” will venture beyond China’s borders, showcasing to the world the strength and brilliance of Chinese innovation.
