China 27 Portal Website Publishes Reports on the Achievement Appraisal Meeting for the Company’s Equipment for Lifting, Transporting, and Erecting Trench Structures in the South-to-North Water Diversion Project, as well as On-Site Coverage

Three Results of Zhengzhou New Dafang Heavy Industry Science And Technology Co., Ltd. in Our District Have Been Recognized as Internationally Leading

Recently, a Results Appraisal Conference for the Canal-Lifting and Bracket-Erecting Equipment of the Middle Route of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project was held at the Zhengfei International Hotel. Three Results, including “Complete Set of Technology and Equipment for Erection of 1,200-ton Aqueducts in the Middle Route of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project,” jointly developed by our district’s Zhengzhou New Dafang Heavy Industry Science And Technology Co., Ltd. and North China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower, were successfully appraised as Results by Henan Province, recognized as internationally leading, and filled the gap in specialized equipment for large-scale construction in China’s water conservancy projects.

At this results appraisal meeting, an appraisal committee comprising seven renowned domestic experts—chaired by Academician Wang Jingquan and Vice-Chaired by Academician Gu Jincai of the Chinese Academy of Engineering—conducted on-site inspections at the Lushan and Xinzheng construction sites of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project. Following these field visits, the committee reviewed the technical documentation and heard the project team’s technical report. The expert panel unanimously concluded that the 1,200-ton precast trough-erection equipment, as well as the 1,600-ton U-shaped and 2,500-ton rectangular aqueduct-erection equipment, successfully transplanted mature and advanced technologies from high-speed railway and highway bridge construction into hydraulic aqueduct construction. These innovations effectively addressed the technical challenges associated with the lifting, transportation, and erection of large-tonnage precast aqueducts, as well as with the construction of cast-in-place mobile-formwork aqueducts. This breakthrough has set a precedent for mechanized construction of large-scale precast aqueducts in water-transfer projects, encompassing hoisting, erection, and cast-in-place mobile-formwork construction. Under the same construction schedule, compared with the conventional full-coverage scaffolding method, labor requirements are reduced by one-third, resulting in cost savings of nearly RMB 200 million.

Finally, the appraisal committee unanimously concluded that the research, development, and application of the hoisting-and-transporting-gantry slotting equipment have achieved integrated technological innovation, reached an internationally leading level, and filled a critical gap in China’s arsenal of large-scale specialized equipment for hydraulic engineering construction.
