The “Seminar on the Chinese Lifting Machinery Standards System and Research on Advanced Foreign Standards, Together with an Analysis of the Application of Standards under the Belt and Road Initiative,” hosted by Xindafang, was successfully held in Zhengzhou.

Xindafang News, November 5 From the 5th to the 7th, the “Seminar on the Standardization System for Lifting Machinery and the Discussion Meeting on the Research Project ‘Comparative Analysis of Domestic and International Standard Systems for Lifting Machinery and Key Technical Standards for Priority Products, as well as an Analysis of Standard Application under the Belt and Road Initiative’” was successfully held in Zhengzhou. The event was organized by the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Lifting Machinery (hereinafter referred to as the Lifting Machinery Standards Committee) and hosted by Zhengzhou Xindafang.

A total of 16 representatives attended the meeting, including members of the Crane Standards Committee and its sub-technical committees, industry experts, and secretariat staff. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Lu Jianhu, Director of the Standards Department at Beijing Lifting and Transport Machinery Design Research Institute Co., Ltd., and was also attended by Mr. Wang Shunting, Deputy General Manager of the same institute, and Mr. Zhao Chunhui, Secretary-General of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Lifting Machinery.

As the host of the conference, Chairman Zhang Zhihua attended the meeting and delivered a welcoming address. First, on behalf of the host organization—Xin Dafang—Chairman Zhang extended a warm welcome to all the experts and guests in attendance and expressed sincere gratitude to the delegates who had taken time out of their busy schedules to participate in the symposium. He also thanked the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Lifting Machinery for placing their trust in Xin Dafang by entrusting this highly important conference to us, thereby providing an excellent platform for exchanging construction technology among all participants.

Zhang Zhihua expressed the hope that, over the next two days, all participants will speak freely and adopt a more open and inclusive attitude, pooling the insightful perspectives of experts and scholars. By focusing on new technologies and emerging industries, the forum will facilitate the review of academic achievements, the exchange of practical experience, the identification of technological bottlenecks, and the integration of innovative development strategies. In doing so, it aims to provide the most valuable cutting-edge information, as well as the most guiding and constructive recommendations and suggestions, for comparative analyses of domestic and international standards systems for lifting machinery, for benchmarking key technical standard content across priority product categories, and for analyzing the application of standards under the Belt and Road Initiative. These efforts will lay a solid foundation for further accelerating the translation of research outcomes into practical applications and for driving substantial progress in China’s lifting machinery sector.

Mr. Wang Shunting, Deputy General Manager of the Beijing Research Institute of Lifting and Transport Machinery Design Co., Ltd., delivered a speech at the meeting. He began by expressing his heartfelt gratitude to all relevant organizations and experts for their longstanding strong support of the Secretariat of the Crane Standards Committee—the Beijing Research Institute of Lifting and Transport Machinery Design Co., Ltd.—as well as for their dedicated efforts and contributions to the standardization of lifting machinery. He then outlined the background and rationale for undertaking this project, emphasizing that it aims to achieve the following four “precision” objectives: first, to accurately identify the shortcomings and gaps in China’s current standards system for lifting machinery and to clarify its alignment with the Standardization Law of the People’s Republic of China and the laws and regulations governing special equipment, thereby establishing a forward-looking, leading-edge, high-quality standards system; second, to precisely determine the technical-level differences between China’s key standards and advanced international standards, providing a reference basis for elevating the technical level of Chinese standards and facilitating international trade in lifting machinery; third, to accurately identify the missing standards within the international standards system, thus laying the groundwork for China to take the lead in developing international standards and enhancing its influence and voice in international standardization efforts related to lifting machinery; and fourth, to precisely assess the application status of crane standards under the Belt and Road Initiative and the strategies for their implementation, thereby paving the way for the global outreach of China’s crane standards.

According to the agenda, after hearing a briefing by Mr. Lin Fu-kui, Deputy Director of the Standards Department of the Beijing Lifting and Transport Machinery Design Institute Co., Ltd., on the draft “Research and Analysis Report on the Standardization System for Lifting Machinery” and the outline of “Comparative Analysis of Domestic and International Standardization Systems for Lifting Machinery and Key Technical Standards for Priority Products, as well as an Analysis of Standard Application under the Belt and Road Initiative,” the delegates engaged in thorough and detailed discussions on each of these documents. They put forward numerous constructive amendments and recommendations and unanimously approved the deliberation of the aforementioned documents.
