During an inspection tour of Xindafang, Xu Liyi, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Henan Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Zhengzhou Municipal Committee, emphasized the need to leverage innovation to drive the high-end transformation of the manufacturing sector and cultivate new pillars of economic growth.
Xindafang News: On the morning of September 22, Xu Liyi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Zhengzhou Municipal Party Committee, visited Xindafang for inspection and guidance, accompanied by Niu Weiguo, a member of the Municipal Party Committee Standing Committee and Municipal Party Committee Secretary; Wu Fumin, Vice Mayor of Zhengzhou; and leaders from relevant municipal departments, including the Municipal Development and Reform Commission, the Municipal Bureau of Natural Resources and Planning, the Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, the Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, and the Municipal United Front Work Department. The visit focused on assessing the current state of development in the high-end equipment manufacturing industry.
Secretary Xu and his delegation listened to Zhang Zhihua’s report on the company’s work in innovation, service areas, expansion of domestic and international markets, and full-industry-chain operations and services. Upon learning that, thanks to years of technological accumulation, Dafang has undertaken the National 863 Program, participated in the formulation of industry standards, won the China Good Design Silver Award, successfully developed the world’s largest 2,500-ton hydraulic aqueduct construction equipment for the Middle Route of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project, and also successfully developed the world’s largest 1,800-ton bridge construction complete set of equipment for the Kuwaiti Cross-Sea Bridge—earning it the title of “China’s Pride” as featured on CCTV’s program “Major National Equipment”—Secretary Xu was deeply moved. He remarked that although China has a large manufacturing sector, few enterprises engage in independent innovation; most are merely processing-oriented and lack core technologies of their own. In contrast, Xindafang, as a private enterprise, demonstrates an exceptional awareness of technology and forward-thinking. Relying on independent innovation, it has filled domestic gaps and broken foreign monopolies in numerous fields, consistently staying ahead of the curve and delivering results—truly remarkable.
Secretary Xu and his delegation also observed a live demonstration of the flatbed transporter and engaged in an in-depth exchange with Zhang Zhihua on the company’s future development. Zhang Zhihua noted that during his inspection of the manufacturing sector in Henan, General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized the need to steadfastly advance industrial transformation and upgrading, strengthen independent innovation, develop high-end and intelligent manufacturing, elevate China’s manufacturing industry and the real economy, shift the Chinese economy from quantity-driven growth to quality-driven strength, and solidly achieve the Two Centenary Goals. To this end, Xindafang has made preparations on two fronts: first, to pursue continuous innovation, prioritizing quality while maintaining market share, so that the “Xindafang” brand becomes synonymous with “superior technology, superior quality, and superior after-sales service” in the specialized equipment construction sector; second, to further optimize the industrial structure, extend the industrial value chain, and move beyond being a mere equipment manufacturer toward becoming a full-chain provider of high-end, intelligent equipment—including bridge prefabrication, bridge construction, and smart and information-based solutions—thereby actively implementing the Belt and Road Initiative.
In response, Secretary Xu expressed his agreement. He further pointed out that Zhengzhou will continue to give high priority to advanced manufacturing, further promote the high-quality development of the manufacturing sector, refine relevant policies, improve the business environment, and ensure that the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech is effectively implemented. He stated that Xindafang is an enterprise that has grown alongside China’s reform and opening-up and serves as an outstanding benchmark for private enterprises. He expressed the hope that, in its future development, the company will further expand its scale of operations, enhance industrial optimization and upgrading, steadfastly pursue continuous innovation, secure a leading position in innovation, achieve new breakthroughs in critical core technologies, and leverage technological innovation, industrial innovation, and institutional innovation to foster the healthy and rapid development of high-end manufacturing in our province, thereby creating a new engine for economic growth.
Secretary Xu emphasized that Innovation is the fundamental strategy for enterprises to respond to changes in the development environment, enhance their development momentum, and take the initiative in development; it is also the primary driving force behind high-quality development. He expressed the hope that Xindafang would be able to withstand the downward pressure on the economy, continue to rely on innovation and structural adjustment, constantly increase the added value and competitiveness of its products, accelerate the optimization of industrial layout, carry out structural adjustment and transformation and upgrading, firmly grasp the initiative in market competition, and make new and greater contributions to the construction of a national central city, the rise of the central region, and the brilliance of the Central Plains.
