Safety Precautions for Highway Beam-Transporting Vehicle Operations

Highway Beam transporter It is widely used in construction. Specifically designed for the transportation of precast girders for highway bridges, this machinery can perform even better with diligent daily maintenance.

The following are safety precautions for the operation of girder transport vehicles:

  1. Before operating the girder transporter, inspect critical components such as the braking system, control panel, tire pressure, and drive wheels to ensure they are in good condition. Also, remove any obstacles within the operating limits.

  2. When the girder transporter starts to move a box girder, the operation shall be slow and smooth; sudden acceleration or braking is strictly prohibited. During operations, dedicated personnel shall be assigned to conduct enhanced patrols, monitoring changes in the bridge deck, the balance of the box girder, tire load distribution, and the operating condition of the shock-absorbing hydraulic cylinders. If excessive elevation differences on the bridge deck or severe misalignment at bridge joints are encountered, shims shall be added.

  3. The girder transporter shall be operated by designated personnel and accompanied by a signaler and auxiliary staff. Unauthorized personnel are prohibited from entering the operator’s cab. During operation, you must maintain full concentration.

  4. During girder transportation, a guide must precede the girder transporter. Dedicated personnel must be stationed on both sides of the transporter to closely monitor its operation. If any abnormalities are detected, immediate measures must be taken to ensure the safety of the transporter.

  5. Emergency braking is strictly prohibited. When the operating instruments indicate values exceeding normal limits, the machine must be stopped for inspection, and appropriate measures must be taken.

The beam transporter reminds us to maintain proper maintenance and hygiene for the equipment, and to carry out a thorough cleaning of the beam-launching barge. Spring and summer are also peak seasons for tire blowouts, so it is advisable to check tire pressure before starting the vehicle for greater accuracy. In addition, any foreign objects inside the tires should be removed promptly. If the tires show varying degrees of wear, they should be replaced according to the extent of the damage.

In addition to cleaning and maintaining the beam-gun vehicle chassis, it is equally important to clean and maintain the cab and the vehicle’s exterior.
