First Girder Successfully Launched at the Prefabrication Yard for the Hangzhou–Ningbo Expressway Duplication Project

Xin Dafang News: On July 30, celebratory fireworks lit up the sky at the box-girder prefabrication yard for the Hangzhou–Ningbo duplicate line in Longshan Town, Ningbo. Accompanied by a thunderous roar, a 1,800-ton precast concrete box girder was slowly lifted into place.

The offshore section of the Hangzhou–Ningbo double-track railway employs a full-span precast box-girder launching and erection scheme. Each box girder is 49.4 meters long, 16.3 meters wide, and 3.2 meters high, with a single-unit weight of 1,800 tons—making it the heaviest single-unit, full-span precast box girder currently in use in China for on-girder launching and erection. The task of lifting these girders was undertaken by the DLT1000 girder-launching machine, independently developed by Xindafang. As the two launchers were simultaneously activated, they gently lifted the 1,800-ton full-span box girder, with the entire lifting operation proceeding smoothly and seamlessly in one continuous motion. 。

In addition, the design of the DLT1000 girder launcher fully accounts for future expansion and application possibilities: with only minor modifications, it can be readily converted into two 40/1000 girder launchers tailored for high-speed railway girder yards, significantly reducing procurement costs for customers and enhancing the equipment’s reusability.
