Warm congratulations to Xindafang on winning the First Prize of the 2016 Zhengzhou Patent Award!

Xindafang News: On the eve of International Labor Day, Xindafang Company once again announced good news: its core technology—“A Self-Propelled Mobile Formwork System for the Construction of Double-Rectangular Hydraulic Aqueducts”—has been awarded the First Prize of the 2016 Zhengzhou Patent Award.

In light of environmental protection, water-diversion safety, and land conservation, Xindafang has proactively established a research team to tackle key technological challenges related to the extensive use of thousand-ton-class thin-walled concrete aqueduct structures in water-conservation diversion projects. By undertaking the national “10th Five-Year Plan” major project for the development of critical technical equipment—“Research and Development of Complete Sets of Construction Technologies and Equipment for Large-Scale Aqueducts in the South-to-North Water Diversion Project”—as well as the Ministry of Water Resources’ “948” promotion project—“Application of New Heavy-Lifting and Handling Machinery in Water-Conservation Projects and the South-to-North Water Diversion Project”—Xindafang has, over more than a decade of relentless effort and technological innovation, invented “a Self-Propelled Mobile Formwork System for the Construction of Double-Rectangular Aqueducts” (Patent No.: ZL201310505509.7). This invention is pivotal to the successful implementation of mechanized construction for large-scale aqueducts; it represents a major breakthrough in new aqueduct-construction technologies, processes, and equipment, and is a world-first.

This project has successfully addressed the critical technical and equipment challenges associated with the construction of large-scale, thin-walled aqueducts for China’s Middle Route of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project. The technology and equipment have now been successfully deployed in the Shuangji River section of the project, making China the first country—both domestically and internationally—to employ this technology and these equipment in the construction of large-scale hydraulic aqueducts. This represents a groundbreaking achievement in global water-diversion engineering, with the overall technology reaching an internationally leading level and delivering significant economic and social benefits.
