Warm congratulations on the New Dafang Segmental Erection Bridge Girder Launcher being awarded the 2013 Zhengzhou Municipal Special Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress.

Xindafang News: The project “Key Technologies, Product Development, and Engineering Application of Segmental Assembly Bridge Erection Machine for Urban Traffic,” developed by Xindafang, has won the 2013 Special Award for Scientific and Technological Progress of Zhengzhou City and the Second Prize for Scientific and Technological Achievements in Industry and Information Technology of Henan Province. The evaluation was conducted by relevant review expert panels organized by the Zhengzhou Science and Technology Bureau and the Henan Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, respectively.

With the approval of the Zhengzhou Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, this project was designated in 2008 as a Major Science and Technology Special Project of Zhengzhou (Project No.: 082ZGB5025). The segmental precast-and-assemble bridge-launching gantry system developed under this project is primarily intended for the suspended, segment-by-segment erection of precast concrete girders on urban rail transit bridges. It is a new type of bridge-launching equipment that meets the construction requirements for bridges with small curve radii and steep gradients in urban rail transit projects. The system is capable of handling spans from 30 m to 50 m, with a rated girder-lifting capacity of 500–1,200 t, precast girder segments weighing 50–200 t, a maximum longitudinal gradient of ±5%, a transverse gradient of 2%, and a minimum curve radius of 380 m. It fully satisfies the demanding construction needs of major urban rail transit bridge projects in China, replacing the conventional on-site cast-in-place method using full-coverage scaffolding and overcoming the drawbacks of long construction durations, severe disruption of normal traffic flow, and environmental pollution associated with urban rail transit construction.

Since its inception, Xindafang has leveraged the robust R&D capabilities of the National Enterprise Technology Center and established a project R&D team centered around the Bridge Crane Design Office. The team has conducted in-depth analyses of key technologies relevant to urban rail construction, jointly tackled critical technical challenges, and completed the preliminary design of construction plans and methods. In addition, the company has actively sought opportunities for application, promoted new construction technologies and equipment, identified pilot projects, and carried out technical design, research, and validation tailored to the specific site conditions and construction requirements of these projects. Throughout the construction process, the project team has continuously monitored issues arising during operation, promptly proposed solutions, and iteratively enhanced product performance, thereby ensuring the successful completion of the research project. The project’s key technologies have once again filled domestic gaps, broken foreign technology monopolies, and resulted in a portfolio of independently owned intellectual property rights. To date, the project has been granted three national invention patents and 14 utility model patents.

The outcomes of this project have significantly enhanced China’s bridge construction technologies as well as the design and manufacturing capabilities of related equipment, thereby driving technological progress in the industry and elevating China to an internationally advanced level in this field. To date, the equipment has been deployed in numerous domestic and international projects by leading construction firms such as CCCC Second Harbor Engineering Company, Shanghai Municipal Engineering Corporation, Xiamen Road & Bridge Group, China Railway Second Bureau Fourth Company, Tehran Municipal Transport Authority in Iran, and China Three Gorges Corporation No. 14, generating a total output value of RMB 130 million and delivering substantial economic and social benefits.
