Warm congratulations to Chairman Zhang Zhihua on his election as a representative to the 12th Henan Provincial People’s Congress.
Xindafang News: The First Session of the 12th Henan Provincial People’s Congress was solemnly inaugurated at the Provincial People’s Hall from January 21 to 30, 2013, with an official duration of nine and a half days. A total of 952 deputies to the People’s Congress, representing all sectors across the province, have assumed the weighty trust of the people of Henan and are jointly deliberating on major plans for the next stage of development.
As a deputy to the 12th Henan Provincial People’s Congress, Chairman and President Zhang Zhihua attended the session. Deeply aware of the weighty responsibilities that come with his role as a people’s representative, he submitted two proposals—titled “Strengthen Support for Private Enterprises” and “Enhance and Strategize Media Publicity to Promote Positive Social Energy in Henan”—demonstrating a strong sense of social responsibility and mission.
At this session, a new leadership team for the Provincial People’s Congress and the Provincial People’s Government was elected; the President of the Provincial Higher People’s Court and the Procurator-General of the Provincial People’s Procuratorate were also elected; and a total of 172 deputies to the 12th National People’s Congress from the province were elected.
This congress is an important meeting convened against the backdrop of the province’s comprehensive study and implementation of the spirit of the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, as well as the ongoing endeavor to build a moderately prosperous society in all respects. The congress will chart a grand blueprint for this year and the next five years for the province’s economic development and the advancement of all undertakings, making it a major event in the political life of the people of the entire province. Moreover, the congress has provided clear guidance and paved the way, laying a solid foundation for thoroughly implementing the spirit of the 18th National Congress, accelerating the development of the Central Plains Economic Zone, and ensuring that by 2020 the 100 million residents of Henan Province will step into a moderately prosperous society in all respects.
