New Acceptance Standards for Metropolitan (Suburban) Railway Projects Released
Recently, the National Railway Administration issued an announcement on railway industry standards.

The preliminary design for the newly constructed Jiaozuo–Pingdingshan Railway, part of the Huhhot–Nanning Corridor and commonly referred to as the “Jiaoping High-Speed Railway,” has officially received joint approval from China State Railway Group and the People’s Government of Henan Province, marking a major milestone in the project and laying a solid foundation for its full-scale construction.

Recently, the Henan Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment issued its Approval on the Environmental Impact Assessment Report for the New Jiaozuo–Pingdingshan Railway. The formal approval of the project’s EIA report has created the necessary conditions for the subsequent approval of the preliminary design, bringing the project one step closer to commencement.

On December 2, as the cutterhead of the “Jianghan Vanguard” TBM slowly began to rotate at the working face of Maintenance and Access Tunnel No. 8 in Section 4 of the Yangtze River Diversion and Han River Restoration Project, the project’s first TBM commenced tunneling in Baokang County, Hubei Province, officially marking the start of a new phase of TBM-driven tunnel excavation for the project.

Hunan’s Largest-Diameter Shield Tunnel Opens to Traffic
The Xiangya Road Tunnel in Changsha, Hunan Province, was completed and opened to traffic on July 5, enabling residents to cross the river in as little as five minutes. This is currently the largest-diameter shield tunnel in Hunan Province and also the largest tunnel project ever constructed under the Xiangjiang River. With this addition, Changsha’s urban area now boasts 14 river-crossing passages.
