Troubleshooting for Flatbed Trucks

If the clutch pedal of the flatbed truck has already fully depressed the brake switch valve, yet the gear still fails to engage in drive, this indicates a fault in the clutch-brake system. In this case, the first step is to inspect the brake air circuit: loosen the fitting at the lower left side of the Fuller transmission where the brake valve connects, then depress the clutch pedal until it fully opens the clutch-brake valve, and observe the air-line fitting.

Introduction to Knowledge Related to Flatbed Trucks

Flatbed trailers typically use solid pneumatic tires, feature a low deck height, and offer high load capacity. They eliminate the risk of tire damage or blowouts, making them safe, simple, and durable. Since they are non-powered, they must be towed by tractors or forklifts. A typical train consists of one or more flatbed trailers coupled with a forklift or tractor unit, enabling horizontal cargo transport or the handling of large equipment. These trailers are widely used in airports, ports, railway stations, factories, and large warehouses, significantly improving the efficiency of cargo transshipment and handling while reducing costs associated with forklift operations and manual labor.
