Meeting Held to Review First-Half Work and Outline Second-Half Plans for Xindafang

Identifying shortcomings, reframing approaches, solving problems, and pursuing development: In August, Xindafang held two sessions of its mid-year work summary and second-half work plan meeting, during which participants jointly reviewed and summarized the achievements of the first half of the year, pinpointed areas for improvement, and distilled valuable lessons learned—laying a solid foundation for the smooth attainment of the annual targets. On August 8–9, Zhang Zhihua, Chairman and President of the company, Chen Hao, Executive Vice President, Gao Huijie, Vice President, along with other senior executives, attended the inaugural semi-annual work conference. The company’s “Document No. 1” serves as the guiding framework and set of objectives for all employees throughout the year; at the meeting, each center and department reported on the progress made in the first half of the year and outlined key priorities for the second half, in alignment with their respective responsibilities. Participants also engaged in a thorough discussion of the most pressing issues facing each unit and tentatively formulated preliminary solutions. On August 22, the company convened another mid-year work conference, this time bringing together senior executives and middle-level managers. During the meeting, Zhang Zhihua emphasized that global economic uncertainty, domestic inflationary pressures, and tight monetary policies have all placed higher demands and greater challenges on the company’s development. Although the international and domestic political environment and economic conditions improved slightly in the first half of the year, they remain more severe than anticipated. Overall, while the company did not fully achieve its set targets in the first half, it nonetheless secured notable results—achievements that were hard-won given the challenging market conditions. The tasks ahead in the second half are even heavier and the pressure even greater; he urged everyone to identify the root causes, draw lessons from experience, address outstanding issues, prevent recurrence of similar mistakes and detours, and thereby lay a solid foundation and chart a clear course for the next phase of work.

Xin Dafang’s first 1,800-ton tire-type girder launcher for the Kuwait Gulf Bridge has successfully passed the load test.

Xindafang News: On the afternoon of July 16, at the 20,000-square-meter test track in the Xindafang Industrial Park in Zhengzhou, two 1,800-ton capacity girder-launching gantry cranes were conducting a series of highly challenging maneuvers, including straight-ahead girder lifting and traveling, 90-degree turning, and lateral movement. This was the load test for the first set of 1,800-ton tire-type girder-launching gantry cranes contracted by Xindafang for Kuwait’s Gulf Bridge project, and also a critical milestone in the project’s acceptance process. Park Chan-soo, Project Manager of Hyundai’s Kuwait Cross-Sea Bridge project, along with other project leaders, as well as Zhang Zhihua, Chairman of the Xindafang Group, Wan Kefeng, General Manager of the Overseas Division, and Wu Yaohui, Chief Engineer of the project, attended the load test. The technical challenge of this test lay in the synchronized control of the two girder-launching gantry cranes and four girder-transport vehicles, requiring the four bogies of each crane to maintain perfect synchronization—a feat comparable in difficulty to in-flight refueling between two aircraft. Throughout the entire test, every step was executed seamlessly according to the established procedure, with the lifted girder segments remaining perfectly stable at all times. Project Manager Park expressed great satisfaction with Xindafang’s timely and high-standard completion of the test, stating that the load test had been successfully passed and would pave the way for smooth project acceptance. According to reports, the equipment is scheduled to be shipped to Kuwait and fully assembled by the end of this year, with formal commissioning planned for June next year. The load test also drew attention from numerous media outlets, including Henan Provincial Television, Zhengzhou Municipal Television, Henan Daily, and Zhengzhou Daily, all of which dispatched reporters to the test site to cover the event.

Xin Dafang Secures Consecutive Contracts for China State Construction’s Algeria Highway Project

Good News: In January 2014, thanks to its strong international brand reputation and overseas acclaim, Xindafang successfully won the bid for the 53-kilometer section of the North–South Highway—El-Hifa Segment—project awarded by the Algerian Branch of China State Construction Engineering Corporation. Xindafang will supply eight units each of the MG25-26 and MG125-30A3 gantry cranes for this project. These gantry cranes are independently developed and upgraded products of Xindafang; both the trolley and the bridge girder of the ordered equipment feature variable-frequency control, are coated with high-quality imported paint, and are equipped with safety devices such as anemometers, load limiters, lightning rods, and limit switches. The entire crane is fitted with IP55-rated motors, offering excellent water and moisture resistance, ensuring safe and reliable operation with a long service life, and demonstrating considerable advanced features and superior performance compared with similar products. As stipulated in the contract, by the end of May, our company had completed the manufacturing, on-site assembly, and commissioning of all equipment and arranged for their smooth shipment. Recently, we have received another piece of good news: in another equipment procurement tender, the Algerian Branch of China State Construction has once again extended an olive branch to Xindafang, placing an order for four highway bridge erectors and four sets of tire-type girder transport vehicles. This further confirms that Xindafang’s comprehensive bridge-construction equipment solutions have earned recognition and affirmation from the international bridge engineering community.

Wu Tianjun, a member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, Visits Xindafang to Inspect and Provide Guidance

Xin Dafang News, June 10: Wu Tianjun, a member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, led Wang Yuehua, a member of the Municipal Party Committee Standing Committee and Head of the United Front Work Department, along with heads of relevant municipal departments, to conduct a field inspection at the Xin Dafang Industrial Park, accompanied by Chen Hongmin, Deputy Secretary of the Erqi District Party Committee and District Mayor, among others. The visit aimed to gain an understanding of enterprises’ technological innovation efforts, help resolve practical problems encountered in their development, and solicit opinions and suggestions on advancing Zhengzhou’s development as an innovative city. Zhang Zhihua, Chairman and President of the company, accompanied the delegation throughout the visit. During the briefing, Zhang Zhihua provided a concise overview of the company’s approach to technological innovation and its achievements. He emphasized that without core technologies, an enterprise will fall behind—and being left behind means being eliminated by the market; this is a well-known law of competition. To prevail in fierce competition, Xin Dafang has adopted an innovation-driven development strategy—“using innovation to drive development and using development to drive innovation”—leveraging technological innovation as the key breakthrough to enhance the company’s core competitiveness. As a result, the company has leveraged its technological leadership to become a leading domestic provider of specialized construction equipment. Zhang Zhihua underscored that the R&D of new technologies and products must be underpinned by a strong technical team, and Xin Dafang has made unremitting efforts in this regard. Each year, the company allocates more than 5% of its profits to reward employees for patent inventions, academic papers, research outcomes, and other achievements, thereby motivating R&D personnel to work even harder to develop new products, overcome challenging technical hurdles, and explore new frontiers. It is precisely this innovative mindset and dynamic spirit that have enabled Xin Dafang to maintain remarkable market-share growth despite severe headwinds—including the global economic downturn, sluggish domestic infrastructure development, overall industry contraction, and weak market demand. As of 2014
