Two Frontline Employees of Xindafang Featured on CCTV-1’s “News Broadcast”

Xindafang News: To mark the upcoming International Labor Day on May 1, China Central Television launched a nationwide interview campaign titled “I Work, I Am Happy—Labor Is the Most Glorious.” The interviews primarily featured grassroots workers on the front lines of society, such as farmers and factory laborers, and our company was honored to be one of the interviewees. On the afternoon of April 26, a CCTV team visited our production floor and conducted random interviews with workers actively engaged in their daily tasks. The interviews focused on how labor has impacted and transformed their personal lives and what they feel is the greatest sense of fulfillment and accomplishment derived from their work, with more than ten frontline employees being interviewed in succession. Among them, Zhao Yande, on-site supervisor of the Structural Workshop in the Production and Manufacturing Department, and Gong Zhanbin from the Bridge Crane Division, stood out during the interviews by drawing on their own experiences, speaking in simple, heartfelt language with confident poise, and thus emerged as winners in the national open-air interview event (it is reported that over a thousand people across the country were interviewed during this campaign). Their contributions were first selected for broadcast on the “Morning News” program on CCTV-1 on the morning of April 30, and subsequently featured on the evening edition of CCTV-1’s “News Broadcast,” appearing in the very first segment. Through their performances, Zhao Yande and Gong Zhanbin effectively showcased the strong ethos at our company’s production front line—that “labor is the most glorious, the most noble, the most great, and the most beautiful”—and vividly embodied the spirit of “I work, I am happy” among frontline employees, thereby enhancing the company’s positive social reputation and public image.

He emphasized that, at the end of the day, corporate competition is ultimately a contest of innovative capacity—a principle of market competition that has been repeatedly validated by history. As a homegrown private enterprise, Xindafang has resolutely adopted an innovation strategy of “pursuing development through innovation and driving innovation through development” in order to prevail in the fiercely competitive market. The company has made it its R&D priority to fill domestic gaps and break foreign monopolies, thereby providing specialized construction technologies and equipment worth over RMB 7 billion for more than 500 major key projects at home and abroad, including high-speed rail, wind power, intercity rail transit, and water-diversion projects. Xindafang’s independently developed 1,800-ton beam transporter and girder launcher—the world’s largest in terms of tonnage—have been put into operation.

Xin Dafang News: Recently, news emerged from the construction site of the Kuwait Trans-Sea Bridge project that Xin Dafang’s independently developed world’s largest 1,800-ton girder transporter and girder launcher have been officially assembled and put into operation. The Kuwait Trans-Sea Bridge has a total length of 36.14 kilometers, making it the fourth-longest bridge in the world. The bridge employs 60-meter spans and single-box girders weighing 1,800 tons each—currently the heaviest precast box girders in the world to be constructed using bridge erectors and girder transporters. Given Kuwait’s location in a hot, arid desert region, the local construction environment is extremely challenging, with complex conditions such as multiple spans, tight curves, and offshore operations. Consequently, the project design adopts a precast erection construction approach, making it one of the most technically demanding landmark projects in the industry. In early 2014, Xin Dafang secured the contract by outperforming leading international firms from Europe and North America, achieving the highest overall score in the technical bid. The company was awarded the contract to supply a complete set of equipment for the Kuwait Gulf Bridge project, including one 1,800-ton bridge erector, two 1,800-ton girder transporters, two 1,800-ton girder launchers, and 16 gantry cranes, with a total contract value of approximately RMB 260 million. As stipulated in the contract, this batch of equipment began arriving in Kuwait in late September last year. Notably, the first 16 gantry cranes to arrive have already been delivered and put into service for nearly a year, operating smoothly; the girder launchers and transporters, upon completion of assembly, were promptly commissioned. In addition, the final 1,800-ton bridge erector is now ready for assembly and is expected to be fully assembled and commissioned by March 2016.
